My First "Scrapbook Page" On a Canvas

This is another submission to the Close to my Heart contest. It is done on a 18x18 canvas. I think I could have done a better job, but I was pressed for time.

Voice Recorder

This is a voice recorder that I covered and added ribbon so that it can be hung up. I made it for my mom for her birthday and submitted it in a contest for Close to my Heart. When you press the button it is a recording of Charlee saying "Happy Grandma!" She was suppose to say Happy Birthday Grandma, but that was close enough!

It is 2:39 am and I can't sleep. This is our stove showing the time. Ths is not unusual or me to be up this late but for a while I have been going to bed before one, even if I am not tired, and I usually fall asleep before 2am. Not this night!

Wednesday is scout day. I am the Wolf Den Leader, so every Wednesday at 4, me and Charlee head over to the church for our den meeting den. We usually walk over and when we get there we sometimes have some time to kill outside. (I am always early and the church isn't always open when we get there.) So today I took my camera to take some pics of Char. This is her being silly outside of the church patiently waiting.
Thursday, February 5th

This is Lynn posing oh so beautifully for the camera. He decided to go play church ball for a little excercise. He said that he got winded after only 5 or 10 minutes of play. When he got home his face was so red and he looked like he was going to pass out. That is actually a goal of ours, is to try to be more active this summer.

Friday, February 6th

Today, me and Charlee went to Gardner Village to get ideas for Erlines birthday and to see the ducks. Gardner Village is an old mill that has been turned into several cute shops. It is one of my favorite places to go shop or just look around. There are ducks that swim in the creek there. Charlee likes to go see them. Our routine is that when we get there we go see the ducks, then we say bye to them and go into a store. After we leave the store we go see the ducks again. Then we say bye again and go into another store. And we just continue this cycle. It works out really well because it keeps her and me happy! This is Charlee with the ducks in the background. She is still a little scared to get too close.

Friday, January 30th

Every Wednesday for about a month now, me and Charlee go to the local library and check out books and movies. This week we went on Friday but it has been a lot of fun. Saturday, January 31st

Today was Miriams 2nd birthday and we were invited to go to Arctic Circle for food and for the girls to play on the toys there. Afterwards, we went to Miriams house for cake and ice cream. This is a picture of the girls drinking their beverages. They have so much fun together!

Today we had my favorite dinner, Hawiian Haystacks. Yummy!!!!

Monday, February 2nd

Ahhhh!! A fresh beverage. Soda tastes so much better this way than in a bottlle or a can. We got Charlee one today and she wanted us to put them in the fridge. She said "Dads drink, Charlees drink and Moms drink."

Monday, January 26th

Today I went to "Nothing Bundt Cakes" to order Erlines birthday cake. They are not cheap but are soooooooo yummy! They are so moist and have fantastic cream cheese frosting on them. I accualy hade a coupon that if you ordered one of their 10 inch bundt cakes you got a "bundtlette cake" for free. So Charlee and I got to have a little treat that day.Tuesday, January 27th

Charlee wanted to help me clean the windows today. I went to go get the window cleaner and told her that mommy has to squirt it on the window but she can wipe it off. When I went to the cupboard with cleaning stuff I found my old fish squirt bottle that I have had since Jr. High or High school. (Don't ask me why I had one. It is probably cuz I liked fish stuff and it was a fish!) So I filled it with water for Char to have her own squirt bottle. In addition to the window being dowsed with water, it was all over the floor and all over Charlee, but she had fun!!
Wednesday, January 28th

Today, Charlee's friend, Miriam, came over for a while for me to watch her. I pulled out my camera to get a picture of them and Charlee went over to Miriam, hugged her and said "My Friend." They are so cute together and get so excited to see each other. I am glad that Charlee has such a good friend!

Thursday, January 29th

Charlee and I went with Paige and Miriam to the Draper Temple open house, today. It ws a lot of fun. Charlee got to ride a bus for the first time. Before we left we talked about how we were going to Jesus' house and that in His house we are quiet. The girls did really well. Towards the end they got a little ancy but what 2 year old wouldn't!

Sunday, January 25th

Lynn was on call this weekend and got a page to go jump a guys car. So we headed out. The guy lived west of Salt Lake City, so it was quit the drive. It was raining when we left Midvale but as we traveled to the guys house it started to snow. The snow flakes got really FAT! They were awesome! Since we would be near downtown, and I had my camera with me, I asked Lynn to drive by the temple so I could get a picture of it. Lynn dropped me off so that I could walk through Temple Square, take a picture, and meet him on the other side. (Yes, I was wearing flip flops. My toes went numb!) It was so peaceful. You can see some snowflakes in the picture but it is hard to tell they were huge. About the size of a golf ball!!
